I helped older homeowners unlock value from their property by selling a share while continuing to live in their home. I analyzed existing data and translated the findings into actionable design decisions.

Outcomes
For Deutsche Teilkauf, a company empowering homeowners to turn part of their property into financial freedom, I redesigned the digital onboarding experience to make the process clearer and more user-friendly.
In-depth breakdown
I reviewed key metrics, spoke with designers and stakeholders to learn more about our user base, and assessed how complex the existing solution actually was.
This helped me identify key friction points in the user journey and define where to focus the redesign efforts.
1
The Problem
Page metrics revealed: the current checkout is the main barrier to conversion.
2
The user
People 60+ who own their home but struggle to maintain it on a limited pension. They value independence and want to stay in their familiar environment, yet face financial and digital barriers.
3
User journey
I reorganized the whole connected flow to the portal. 1. After a set of questions, you can finish the checkout, and create an account.
2. or finetune it more, to get a accurate offer.
4
Reducing complexity
With Oskar’s fears in mind, reorganizing the information hierarchy became central to my design solution.
5
Systems thinking
Creating all components while reusing the existing design system to ensure consistency across the flow.
6
Comparison
Visualizing the clear differences in both approach.
Blueprint
A clear structure designed to guide the user through a consistent pattern.
Prototyping
I created high-fidelity prototypes to ensure the experience aligned with the design vision.
Design to development
Through regular meetings with developers I address feasibility, implementation, and design accuracy. This enables collaboration and ownership.
